QUETTA: The judiciary will not compromise on the missing persons issue; there are 51 cases and we will hear all of them, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said on Tuesday, Express News reported.

He made these remarks while hearing the Balochistan missing persons case in the Supreme Court’s Quetta Registry.

A three-member bench – headed by the chief justice – is hearing the case today.

IG FC Major General Ejaz Shahid appeared before the court, while the bench expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of federal interior secretary who was summoned by the court.

While commenting during the hearing, the chief justice said the court doesn’t want uniformed officers to appear before the court as it might demoralise them.

While addressing the additional attorney general who was present during the hearing, Chief Justice Chaudhry asked him to bring back all the missing person or name those who can bring them back and the court will issue orders accordingly.

He further questioned how he would feel if his beloved was one of the missing persons.

The chief justice also criticised the additional attorney general for presenting different reports every time he appears before the court.
